The Hochschild Cohomology Ring modulo Nilpotence of a Monomial Algebra

For a finite dimensional monomial algebra Λ over a field K we show that the Hochschild cohomology ring of Λ modulo the ideal generated by homogeneous nilpotent elements is a commutative finitely generated Kalgebra of Krull dimension at most one. This was conjectured to be true for any finite dimensional algebra over a field in [13].

The Hochschild Cohomology of a Poincaré Algebra

In this note, we define the notion of a cactus set, and show that its geometric realization has a natural structure as an algebra over Voronov’s cactus operad, which is equivalent to the framed 2-dimensional little disks operad D2. Using this, we show that for a Poincaré algebra A, its Hochschild cohomology is an algebra over the (chain complexes of) D2.

Nilpotence and Torsion in the Cohomology of the Steenrod Algebra

In this paper we prove the existence of global nilpotence and global torsion bounds for the cohomology of any finite Hopf subalgebra of the Steenrod algebra for the prime 2. An explicit formula for computing such bounds is then obtained. This is used to compute bounds for H* (sán ) fer n < 6 .

Hochschild Cohomology and Support Varieties for Tame Hecke Algebras

We give a basis for the Hochschild cohomology ring of tame Hecke algebras. We then show that the Hochschild cohomology ring modulo nilpotence is a finitely generated algebra of Krull dimension 2, and describe the support varieties of modules for these algebras.

On Local Properties of Hochschild Cohomology of a C- Algebra

Let A be a C∗-algebra, and let X be a Banach A-bimodule. B. E. Johnson showed that local derivations from A into X are derivations. We extend this concept of locality to the higher cohomology of a C ∗-algebra and show that, for every n ∈ N, bounded local n-cocycles from A into X are n-cocycles. The study of the local properties of Hochschild cohomology of a Banach algebra was initiated by intro...
